March 11, 1881, to a colleague [Georges Lecomte?]: "Céard writes me that you wish to give an extract from my book: La Maison d'un artiste in the Express"; if the text is too long, give "only the paragraph on the little House"... - October 25, 1885, to a draftsman. "Kistemaeckers would like to do an edition of La Fille Elisa in October, illustrated with ten etchings. As I am infinitely fond of your talent [...] I have asked him to entrust you with the illustration of this book"; he asks for his conditions "as exacting as possible"... Enclosed is a small l.a.s. from Jules de Goncourt, requesting that apostrophes and accents be restored in the feuille Louis XV enfant; and a carte de visite a.s. from Edmond to Edmond Cousturier (envelope), thanking him for an article (1888).
