FREEMASONRY. Brevet maçonnique, Paris March 8, 1789; partly engraved parchment (46.5 x 38 cm), rich engraved emblematic decoration, 2 red wax seals on ribbons (framed). Beautiful Masonic patent issued by the Amis de la Parfaite Franchise lodge at the Paris Orient to Charles La Pierre. Among the twenty or so signatories are 1st president Picard, and secretaries Jean-Baptiste Michonis (1735-1794, involved in the carnation conspiracy to save Marie-Antoinette) and Godard.We enclose another patent in the name of Julien Marie Lapierre (April 19, 1792); and 2 framed invitations (under glass) to parties: 20 germinal IX at the Cirque "en réjouissance du Retour de la Paix"; bal des Menuisiers du Devoir à Nantes (1841).
