Autobiographical notes.The notebook begins: "My birth was my worst and first misfortune: it cost my mother her life. My father never forgave me, and my good maternal grandmother Mrs. Mazeran raised me. Notes on his grandparents. "I was introduced to voluptuousness by Germaine X who was my father's mistress (in 1889). [...] She was ravishing [...] my father had the same taste for women in drag as I did - although neither he nor I were ever 'epheberastes'". Various anecdotes. The confidences in this notebook are intended to remain intimate: "My life will have a few secrets, and my memoirs a few wolves - for I will never name the woman who was my fiancée (drowned in '91), of whom I would have liked a son - nor the woman who was my "initiator" - nor my adulterous son, since I would have to name his mother - nor my natural son, since his mother knew how to have him recognized - nor the woman I so ardently desired, since she [is] the wife of a friend and never knew I loved her".He draws up a chronology of the periods in his life, then indulges in confidences or "Sensual Deviations": - about Colette: "I adored Co- in 1895. When W [Willy] made me read the manuscript of Cl.
