CHASSEURS. Autograph manuscript signed by Viscount Louis-Pierre-Amour-Henry de BOUILLÉ (1851-1908), Historique du 8e régiment de Chasseurs, 2nd volume, [circa 1906]; one vol. small in-4 of 161pages, soft eggplant Russian leather binding, gilt fillet frame, top board adorned with gilt brass horn and postcard with title. The Viscount de Bouillé recopies this history drawn up by the Count de MARGON, squadron leader in the 8th Regiment of Chasseurs, adding remarks and illustrating it with vignettes, engravings and postcards (notably of the Marey-Monge barracks in Auxonne), and musical manuscripts (military songs and music). The notebook begins during the Russian campaign, and the story continues until 1903. At the end, Bouillé adds appendices: composition of the regiment from 1903 to 1905, status of officers, notes on the standard, list of wounded and killed in action; as well as his last will and testament. He has affixed his bookplate at the head.
