"The King of Sweden claims that the additional article of the armistice must not be recognized; consequently, he reserves the right to recommence hostilities, giving only ten days' notice". The Emperor requested a conference to obtain an armistice of at least 30 days, or the resumption of hostilities, as he feared that the King of Sweden was counting "on the English expedition to restart the war himself when it would appear advantageous to him". Brune was to attend an interview with the King, and he would have liked to "announce something positive to him, but it is impossible [...] The Emperor orders me to send to Coeworden the Dutch division on the left, composed of at least five thousand men, and to inform Your Majesty of the day it will arrive"... He therefore sent General Dumonceau at the head of a division...
