In 1992, certain changes led to the arrival of the MK6, which was produced until 1997. Catalytic converters and fuel-injection engines replaced carburetor engines. All Mini models were equipped with a 1300cc engine, developing 50 hp. Among the new limited series in the range is the Mini British Open Classic, equipped with an electric canvas sunroof. This new series will proudly bear the British Racing Green color, with the same body shade used on the mirrors. The interior features velvet or beige leather seats, depending on the country of export. Handles, grille and bumpers will be chrome-plated. Approximately 1,500 units will be produced in this limited series.
