ESPAGNE, XVII-XVIIIe siècle
Carved, polychrome and gilded wooden statue of a saint, shown standing, with a full beard and tonsure, holding the Bible, wearing a surplice and aumusse, the latter with rich floral decoration. Height: 190 cm Wear, accidents, missing parts The absence of iconographic attributes, as well as the missing arm, make it difficult to identify the saint depicted, but the polychromy, vestment and silhouette of the work allow it to be compared with Spanish compositions, notably Juan de Mesa's Saint Raymond Nonnat.
