Leonardo LIMOSIN (1505-1577) Polychrome enamel plaque with gold highlights, depicting the transverberation of Saint Theresa. Monogrammed lower right L.L and dated 1549. H. 9 cm x L. 7 cm Léonard Limosin was born in Limoges, where he learned enameling. His work was noticed by the Bishop of Limoges, and in 1548 he was appointed valet de chambre and enameler to the King.
