Limestone modillion carved in high relief with the head of a grimacing woman. Prominent eyes with deep-set pupils and heavy eyelids, wide open mouth sticking out her tongue and revealing her teeth, thick locks of hair with a median parting. Angoumois, 12th century H. 25.5 cm - W. 19 cm - D. 40 cm (minor accidents) A number of churches in the Charente region also feature this type of modillion with a figure sticking out its tongue, including Saint-Michel d'Entraygues, Vindelle and Claix.
