Framed, behind glass. Dimensions 46 x 31 cm. Karl Grünwedel (1815 - 1895), German painter and lithographer, worked in Munich from 1830, where he became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts and received several commissions for porcelain paintings from Ludwig II. His works can be found in several Munich collections. Condition: II

A Prussian guard eagle and two grenadier eagles for enlisted men, circa 1913 Non-ferrous metal, gilt (rubbed). A guard eagle with applied nickel silver star. Also a new type of grenadier eagle (from 1913) with embossed bandeau "Colberg 1807" from the Colberg Grenadier Regiment No. 9. Also another new type of grenadier eagle. Signs of wear and age. Rare helmet emblems, complete with all fastening elements. Condition: II

Belgium, circa 1850-1870. Bear cap for a horse grenadier of the royal guard or royal gendarme. Cowhide carcass trimmed with teddy bear fur sewn edge to edge. Small round visor in black leather edged with black leather piping. Inner cap in black leather with seven wolf teeth. The front badge, plume, cockade pompom and brass chain chinstrap are missing. The "cul de singe" embroidery is missing. Presence of a paper manufacturer's label on the back of the headpiece. Worn. Comes with its cylindrical khaki-painted sheet metal carrying case, stencilled in white with the number "84". (Uncommon, small traces of oxidation and rust bloom on the carrying case. Good condition). Front height 36 cm. Height. Back 38 cm.
