Rare wax seal bearing the Bailli's coat of arms Jacques François de Chambray (1687-1756), lieutenant general, commander of the ships of religion, vice-admiral of Malta. In brass, the arms under a marquis crown, girded with the order's rosary, on a Maltese cross and crossed anchors. 21 x 23 cm. Without handle. Circa 1730. Note, these arms are found on an engraving engraving, circa 1730. Biography : Jacques-François de CHAMBRAY, born March 15, 1687 in Évreux and died April 8, 1756 in Malta, was a French knight of Malta, commander, vice-admiral, lieutenant-general and governor of the island of Gozo.

Draft of a sailor's manual being studied on board the Louis XIV. Toulon, J. Laurent, 1869. One volume. 10.5 by 16.5 cm. 328-(3) pp. + 8 double-page folding plates. Contemporary full blue chagrin, ornate ribbed spine, cold framing and gilt fillet with spandrels on boards, owner's name on 1st board, a crowned ink on second board, inner lace, gilt edges. Perfect condition. Copy of Henry Ferdinand Louis de Gonzague Mauzac (1836-1914), lieutenant in 1862, then captain on October 20, 1886. He was second in command of the Friedland battleship in 1886 (cf. Ecole navale, Officiers célèbres). A precious copy enriched with numerous handwritten corrections in red, and numerous handwritten commentary leaves or slips, probably for a new edition. This suggests that Henry de Gonzague Mauzac was the author of the book. A unique copy.
