Levasseur, (René) - Mémoires de R. Levasseur (de la Sarthe). Paris, Rapilly 1829-1831. 4 vols. In-8° half contemporary fawn glazed calf, frontispiece portrait. Engraved bookplate. An unconditional supporter of Robespierre, Levasseur devotes most of his memoirs to the period between August 10, 1792 and the fall of his idol. His activity was mainly that of a representative on mission to the armies operating on the borders and in the Vendée. An important and uncommon memoir. Lemière, p. 424. Fierro, 905. Scattered foxing, wear to covers, otherwise good condition.
