After René QUILLIVIC (Plouhinec, 1879 - Paris, 1969) La Pleureuse de l'Ile de Sein. Subject in bronze with green patina. Height: 16.4 cm. Length: 12.5 cm. Width: 8.8 cm. René Quillivic was responsible for many monunents to the victims of the Great War. Our subject pays tribute to the mothers and wives of soldiers who died for France. It is reproduced from the granite model located at the Bouteillerie cemetery in Nantes since 2016. Tradition has it that this group had been installed for a cemetery on the Ile de Sein, then moved by the German occupiers, and finally donated by the artist to the city of Nantes in 1948.

A plan drawn in brown ink on laid paper, 18th century, 53 x 81 cm (cut reaching plan and title on 3 sides). In the diocese of Maux, Saint Faron is a Benedictine abbey founded in 628 or 660 by Saint Faron, bishop of Meaux, for monks from the abbey of Luxeuil. Initially dedicated to the Holy Cross and St. John the Baptist, it was later dedicated to its founder. It joined the Saint-Denis congregation in 1607, then the Saint-Maur congregation in 1615.

Engraved head- and tail-pieces, and decorative initials; illustrated with 12 double-leaf engraved plates. 27 pages followed by twelve folded out-of-text engravings, an autograph note and two glued engravings, half posterior binding, folio. Monogram stamp of Prince Paul Demidoff and San Donato library stamp. Enclosed: L.A.S. by Marquis de Tolomei, dated February 15, 1873, addressed to Princess Troubetkoy, mother-in-law of Paul Demidoff of San Donato.
