Nevertheless, the 996 marked a major change in the life of this most famous of sports cars. A liquid-cooled engine and almond-shaped headlights were introduced. This was perhaps a little too much for Porsche enthusiasts, who saw the 993 as the last Porsche. While liquid cooling was retained on the 997, the replacement for the 996, the almond-shaped headlamps disappeared in favor of more classic, more Porsche-like, circular headlamps. Well-born, the 997 was one of the best sports cars of its generation, and its success was matched by the numerous versions in the catalog: Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, GT3 RS, GT2, Cabriolet, Targa etc... At the end of 2008, the 997 generation received its first restyling, direct injection became standard throughout the range, the lines were revised and the fabulous PDK gearbox replaced the aging tiptronic. The model we're offering is a Carrera equipped with a 3.6, 345 hp engine and a fabulous PDK gearbox. This car features an exceptional configuration combining Racinggruen Metallic paint and a superb beige interior. Options include sunroof, cruise control, Xenon PDLS lights, GPS, garage door opener and heated seats and steering wheel. Delivered new to the Stuttgart factory, this car was subsequently regularly serviced in the Porsche network, as its service booklet shows. Imported into France in 2019, it came into the possession of our collector. He then undertook a major overhaul at the Porsche center in Rouen, at a cost of over 2,000 euros. Only partially used since then, this Porsche now has just 80,000 km on the clock. Almost unique in its exceptional configuration, this 997 is one of the last naturally-aspirated 911s produced.
