Mohammed Racim (1896-1975) was a great Algerian calligrapher, illuminator and miniaturist who founded the Ecole de miniature algérienne. Drawing on his many travels and the discovery of Persian painting, the artist chose this miniaturist path. His work has made a name for itself through prestigious exhibitions in Algeria and abroad, as well as through his participation in major projects to decorate books such as The Thousand and One Nights illustrated by Léon Carré or The Life of the Prophet by Etienne Dinet.
