Three calligraphic compositions, Iran qâjâr, 19th century, signed Compositions on Persian nasta'liq paper, all mounted on album pages, the last two with fine colored borders and wide margins. The first, known as nasta'liq qetâi, a collage of beige paper on a green paper background pasted on an orange background, signed Emâd al-Hassani in the upper right-hand corner. Dim. calligraphy: 34 x 21.5 cm, dim. page: 34 x 31.6 cm, small accidents; the second, verses from the Diwân of Hâfez arranged obliquely in a composition known as chalipâ, calligraphied in black ink in blue poly-lobed reserves standing out against a gilded illuminated background with polychrome floral decoration, signed Mûsa at-Tabrîzî, dated 1271 H / 1854 in the lower part, the upper right corner adorned with an illuminated triangle. Dim. calligraphy: 26 x 16.3 cm, dim. page: 35.2 x 23.2 cm, wetness, small folds and trimmed corners; the third, a chalipâ poetic composition consisting of two distichs in black ink and signed Mohammad Taqi Heravi.
