"This edition is preferable to that of Coustelier (1723) because the editor has appended new notes, some unpublished fragments, memoirs concerning Villon by Prosper Marchand, and a critical letter extracted from the Mercure of February 1724." (Brunet). This edition, the last early edition of Villon before the 1832 edition published by Abbé Prompsault with Techener, includes remarks by Eusèbe de Laurière, Le Duchat and Formey.
