In-8 Italian style (15.4 x 23.4 cm) of 4 ff. n. ch., 25 plates, dark red percaline, top cover decorated with a large medallion featuring a polychrome maiden's head and framed with floral decoration, title, editor and ornamentation gilt, gilt edges (publisher's cartonnage). Album is illustrated with 25 chromolithographs depicting Black Forest costumes and customs, based on aqurelles by Heinrich Issel (1854-1934), the famous German costume painter. Preface by Heinrich Hansjakob (1837-1916), writer and politician from Baden, renowned for his works on local history. A very fine copy. (Colas, no. 1525).
