Lot consisting of a wax medal and a lead papal bull: - Yellow wax medal, oval shape. Face / Saint Turibe de Lima, standing, one foot on a martyrdom, evangelizes two Indians kneeling before him. Inscription S.THVRIBIVS.ARCHIEPISC.LIMANVS. Reverse / Reclining cruciferous lamb, coat of arms on lower part and date 1853. Inscription ECCE.AGN.DEI.QVI.TOL.P.MVNDI. PIVS -X PON.MAX INVII 1853. Spain, mid-19th century, 1853 Height: 8.2 cm - Width: 7 cm (minor edge damage) - Lead seal of the papal bull of John XXII featuring the heads of St. Peter and St. Paul on one side and the inscription SPASPE on the other, and IOHANNES PP XXII on the other. Avignon, 1316-1324. Height: 3.5 cm - Width: 4 cm (minor chips) Jacques Duèze, one of the first popes of Avignon, was born in Cahors in 1244. He became the 196th pope of the Catholic Church in 1316 under the name of John XXII.
