Central part of a carved ivory triptych depicting Christ crucified surrounded by the two Larrons under a three-lobed arch with hooked gable. Paris, first quarter of the 14th century Height: 8.9 cm - Width: 5.1 cm - Thickness: 0.7 cm - Gross weight: 96.34 g Mounted on panel (missing lower left corner, slight wear) Provenance: Hunsiker Collection, Paris. Bibliography: P. Koechlin, Les ivoires gothiques français, Tome II, 1968, n°436, p. 178. This rare iconography can be found on other triptychs, such as the one in the Musée de Cluny (inv. CL 446) or a central part belonging to the Wallace collection (inv. S 247). Koechlin described this one as "good work", with the feet of the thieves resting on the ground. CITES certificate dated 18/04/2023
