Giella/Original drawing illustrating Flash on a black background. Beautifully executed. India ink signed. TBE+. A4 format Joe Giella (1928-2023) was an American cartoonist. He took drawing classes in New York and specialized in drawing for advertisements, but interrupted his studies to serve in the Navy Reserve. After completing this service, he drew the adventures of the Mary Worth comic strip, based on scripts by John Saunders. Among his many works, mainly for DC Comics and Marvel, he drew the adventures of Batman from 1966 to 1970. He also worked on the Flash Gordon and Le Fantôme comic strips for 17 years!
