Thos/Original cover for the collection "15 aventures fantastiques". Gouache signed circa 1967. Superb quality of execution in the unique style of the master of movie posters. TBE+. 34 X 42 cm Yves Thos (1935-2020) was a well-known French poster artist, whose masterpieces are now part of the world cinema heritage. He began working as a cinema poster artist at the age of nineteen and never left. He painted his first posters for Pathé-Cinéma. He was immediately recognized and spotted by the biggest film companies... He created the visual hook for Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, as well as the poster for the film La Femme et le Pantin. His energetic line reveals a provocative Brigitte Bardot swirling with eroticism. He also designed posters for films as diverse as Cartouche, Don Camillo Monseigneur, Le Capitan and Golding. In all, he produced almost 200 posters for war films, sword and cloak movies, peplums, thrillers and comedies. He also flourished working on magazine covers, book jackets and advertising campaigns such as those for Uncle Ben's, Coca Cola and Oasis. In 1965, at the newspaper Pilote, he designed the covers for the albums Bob Morane, Barbe Rouge and Les Aventures de Tanguy et Laverdure, with Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny. Illustrator of Dinky Toys boxes, catalogs and posters from 1967 to 1969, he was also commissioned to design a collection of works by author Stephen King.
