Description

Mitton/Messalina. Original Plate X n°21 in India ink circa 2011 + Offset print signed and dated 2015. TBE+. A4 format Jean-Yves Mitton began his career in a comic book retouching workshop. For eleven years, he cut his teeth on such series as Sammy Sam, his first, Pim Pam Poum, Oum le dauphin, Popoff and above all Blek le roc published in "Kiwi", for which he drew some fifty episodes. From 1972 onwards, in addition to hundreds of covers, he created a string of superheroes including Mikros, Cosmo, Epsilon and Kronos, who frequented the pages of Mustang, Strange, Titans and Nova for fifteen years. Hard at work, he teamed up with François Corteggiani in 1987 for a new series, L'Archer Blanc, published in "Mickey" and Noël et Marie in "Pif". The following year, he took over from Malès De silence et de sang for Glénat. While continuing this series up to volume 10, he began the long Gallo-Roman saga Vae Victis. Soleil then gave him carte blanche, and he followed this up with Les survivants de l'Atlantique and Chroniques barbares.
