Description

De Lazare/Rubine. Original drawing signed and dated 2024. Indian ink. TBE+. A4 format Dragan de Lazare (1964) caught the comics bug as a child, reading albums by Macherot, Deliège, Tillieux, Hermann and Franquin. In 1986, he decided to settle in Paris, where he successfully pursued studies in interior design. However, the comic-book demon never left him. At the same time, he drew and accumulated plates whose heroes were called "X-Ion", "Zhar" and "Bozar". These characters soon enthralled young Yugoslavian cartoonists, who discovered them in "Strip Zabavnik", "Val Strip" and other magazines. In 1989, his talent was confirmed with the publication in France of an album entitled "Le Témoin", illustrating an adventure by "Yves Rokatansky". In 1991, Dragan de Lazare met Mythic, who invited him to take part in the creation of "Rubine", with François Walthéry. This humorous detective series was published by Lombard. Dragan has been deeply affected by the war in ex-Yugoslavia, and has chosen to devote himself to other activities. He has entrusted his friend Boyan with the task of continuing to draw the "Rubine" albums. De Lazare made a discreet return in 2016, signing Acidités de couleur noire, with BAM on the script, a tribute to André Franquin's Idées noires. The "Ines" album is his latest collaboration.
