Larraz/Kim Norton. Original endpaper for the story "Les compagnons du fantastique/Un cas de télépathie" published in Spirou in 1975. India ink and graphite. BE wear and stains. 30 X 40 cm José Ramón Larraz (1929-2013), sometimes known as Gil, Dan Daubeney or Watman, was a Spanish comic book artist and director. Around 1952, he drew Aventuras de Wilkens, el Cazador in Alcotan and Castigo del Artico, Ray Walker or El Hombre del Asfalto in Nicolas. He then drew Vivian, Pecas, Janet y Pipa in Florita. In 1954, he came to France to work for Marijac. They made Douce-Liane l'amie de la Jungle and Jenny la Fille du Désert for Mireille. He then worked for the Opera Mundi agency. Here he created Jed Foran for Le Soir (reprinted in Akim ), Capitaine Barroud for L'Equipe, Hommes et Bêtes for France-Soir, Cécile for Le Parisien Libéré, Tim la Brousse for Le Journal de Mickey, Croc Blanc for Libération, La Guerre de Feu or Le félin géant for L'Humanité, Yves la Brousse for Pilote and Kim Norton for Spirou.
