TBE+. 25 X 20 cm William Vance (1935-2018) began his career in comics under the aegis of Hergé, illustrating 66 stories for the journal Tintin from 1962 to 1967. He then worked for Attanasio Studios on two Bob Morane albums - La Terreur verte and Le Collier de Civa. He took over the series in 1967 from Gérald Forton, based on a script by H. Vernes, and drew eighteen albums. From 1965 to 1968, William Vance illustrated the western Ringo. At the same time, he illustrated Bruno Brazil, with a script by Greg. In 1976, he created the character of Bruce J. Hawker, a privateer abandoned by his family and seeking to find his place in society. From the fourth volume onwards, he teamed up with André Paul Duchateau for the scripts. In 1984, he created the character of XIII, based on a script by Jean Van Hamme. XIII quickly became a major success in contemporary comics.
