FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, reproducing the text of "Silence" with the title error, which had appeared in April 1943 in No. 4 of the "Revue du Monde Libre - Apportée par la RAF" printed in London. Another edition, published in London in June 1943 by C. Divonne de Boisgelin's "Les Cahiers du Silence", bore the correct title of "Silence", with a preface by M.D. (Maurice Druon), which is reproduced here. But Jacques Schiffin, in a note at the beginning of the book, states that "not having had the opportunity to consult the manuscript, we have chosen the latter title" ["les Silences"]. Good condition.
