Off-text color and in-text bistre illustrations by Marianne Clouzot. Limited edition of 3,000 numbered copies. This one, n°7, one of 10 on Madagascar with an original black and white drawing and an original sketch, but there is no watercolor as announced, and a black continuation of the drawings. In-4, 253p. half-cotton basane, gilt head, illustrated cover preserved. Illustrated with numerous in- and out-text drawings and lettering by Auguste Leroux and H. Bouché-Leclercq. A frontispiece by Decisy of the Author. Limited edition of 1224. This is one of 100 copies on Japon Impériale containing 2 states of the illustrations, one on arches with justification. Good condition, binding rubbed.
