DEVANT-DE-CORSAGE, CA. 1900, IN GOLD AND PLATINUM WITH DIAMONDS AND PEARLS Devant-de-corsage, possible Netherlands manufacture ca. 1900, in 14 kt yellow gold. and views in platinum with a guinarlas and flower design with a bow crest and two removable pinjantes set with old-cut and rose-cut diamonds, with a total estimated weight of 2.80 ct. set in grain and millegrain and three pearls, possibly natural. Attached is an invoice from SIMONS, a jewelry store located at 9 Plein Street in The Hague, dated January 11, 1963.

A bronze bust of an old woman, which is attached to a nice circular lead base of the period and acts as a paperweight. The piece is attributed to the Netherlands, the headwear being Dutch in style. A later 18th or 19th century cast-iron version can be seen on Page 221 of 'Decorative Antique Ironwork: A Pictorial Treasury' by Henry-René D'Allemagne. Netherlands - CA. 17th Century Dimensions: H: 2 3/4 in., (7 cm.) Good overall with minor wear consistent with age.
