Imposing figure of the Bodhisattva Ekadashamuka-Avalokiteshvara - Tibet, 19th/20th century, Copper bronze, gilt, with polychrome and fine gold painting, the royally decorated, eight-armed and eleven-headed bodhisattva of boundless compassion is seated in meditation on a semi-circular double lotus base, his facial expression is a loving smile, the original pair of hands is folded in front of the chest (anjali-mudra), the remaining hands perform various mudras (including karana-mudra, varada-mudra, vitarka-mudra), the top of his eleven heads rising like a five-tiered tower depicting his spiritual father Amithaba, the waving scarf is raised like a nimbus, the ends hanging down to the base, base with locking plate and double vajra symbol, h.approx. 60 cm, weight approx. 23 kg, the rear left arm broken, partly marked verdigris with corrosion, gold abrasion
