Russia Officer's Cavalry Saber 1877 Officer's cavalry saber, model 1827, Armed Forces of the Russian Empire. Russian industrial production of saber blade, hilt and scabbard. Manufactured by Zlatoust. The mark on the blade is "Zlatoust"/“Златоустъ” and “1877”. Total length - 1066mm. The length of the blade with the handle (without sheath) is 1016mm. Blade length without handle - 871mm. The width of the blade at the heel is 35mm. Sheath length - 923mm. Materials and manufacturing techniques: steel, forging, hardening, wood, stamping, casting, glue, brass, leather, grinding, carving, turning, abrasive material, nickel plating, rawhide (alcohol) leather, drawing. The saber blade is steel, forged, hardened, with a medium bend of the strip, with a double-edged leaf-shaped combat end, with two fullers in the middle part of the blade, nickel-plated.
