Inscribed on the lid in small brass studs "COFFRE DE MESSIEURS LES PAGES DE LA CHAMBRE DE MONSIEUR". Closed by two wrought-iron locks (one clasp torn off). Transportable by two strong wrought-iron folding handles. Height : 50 cm. Depth : 57 cm Length : 114 cm Canvas interior (later refinished). Wear and tear, missing leathers and reinforcements. Circa 1780. History : This trunk is similar to those used by the Dauphine, then Queen, and members of the royal family.
