CONSOLE EMPIRE RECTANGULAIRE

* Mahogany veneer and gilded wood imitating ormolu. The waistband is adorned with applied gilded wood motifs of rosettes, palmettes and stars, opening at the front with a push-button drawer. The front uprights feature sheath-mounted busts of Caryatids ending in feet in sandals. The back is stamped LPO and crowned (Mark of Louis Philippe d'Orléans from 1821 to 1830). Work attributed to Martin-Eloy Lignereux (1751 - 1809). Empire period, circa 1804. Black marble top. Height : 98 cm - Width : 150-Depth : 50 cm (Very good general condition, restorations, small accidents) PROVENANCE - Probably acquired around 1804 by Marie-Adélaïde, duchesse d'Orléans (1753 - 1821) from Martin-Eloy Lignereux (1751 - 1809). - Louis-Philippe d'Orléans (future King of the French) probably for the Château d'Eu or Amboise. - Private collection.
