in chased and gilded bronze decorated with laurel garlands and flanked on the sides by clasps ending in volutes and supporting ram heads. The white enameled dial showing the hours in Roman numerals and the five minutes in Arabic numerals is signed L. Châlons in Paris. The movement plate is also signed. Louis XVI period Height: 54 cm - Width: 25 cm (Minor accidents and missing parts, restored) Louis Châlons, born in 1732, master watchmaker in Paris still alive in 1800, described as "ancien maître horloger".
