GRAND PLATEAU DE SERVICE AUX ARMES

in wood painted in imitation of oriental lacquers, depicting a boat led by three figures in a landscape in gold on a black background. The landscape is surmounted by the Boutin and Chauvelin coats-of-arms (allied in 1755) under a count's crown. Openwork flared gallery imitating bamboo. Mid 18th century. Mounted on a bamboo base forming a coffee table. Height: 50 cm - Width: 90 cm Depth: 55.5 cm (Damage, missing parts, restoration) This tray is decorated with the coat of arms of Robert Boutin de La Coulommière. Coulommière (1722 - 1810), who married Delphine de Chauvelin de Beauséjour (1738 - 1814) in 1755. Boutin de La Coulommière was a leading financial magistrate of the French kingdom, who served successively as Attorney General of the Paris Parliament (1741), Counselor to the First Chamber of Requests (February 5, 1743), Master of Requests (February 17, 1749), President of the Grand Council Conseil (April 19, 1754), Commissaire du Roi près la Compagnie des Indes (1756) and Intendant de Bordeaux (1758 - 1766), he enjoyed a considerable fortune and stayed at the grand Hôtel Boutin built by his father Simon Boutin on rue de Richelieu in Paris.
