PAIRE DE POTS-POURRIS MONTÉS

or incense-burners in Japanese porcelain with gilded bronze mounts. Rectangular in shape with openwork honeycomb decoration, they feature reserves illustrating the grief of a bird bending under the weight of a fallen tree. Rat-shaped upper grip. Lateral grips of three triangular points. Resting on four small feet. The finely chased ormolu mounts framing the rat are oak leaves and acorns. On either side are friezes of hanging oak leaves and acorns. At the neck, a gilded bronze frieze of chased foliage. Japanese porcelain, Edo period, 17th or 18th century.
