TIFFANY & Co Dress Watch By Schlumberger No. 9306801XX. Case in 18k yellow gold. Champagne colored dial with applied dot numerals and sword hands. With two signatures "Tiffany & Co." and "Schlumberger". The crown is on the case back, which removes and attaches to a brown leather strap with removable yellow gold clasp. Quartz movement. It works. Measurements: 31 x 19 mm. Born in France in 1907, Jean Schlumberger came from a wealthy family of textile manufacturers. Despite his parents' discouragement, Schlumberger persisted in his hobby of drawing and designing until the outbreak of World War II. After surviving Dunkirk and serving in the Middle East, he arrived in New York, where he began designing for Tiffany & Co. in the 1950s at the personal request of the company's president, Walter Hoving. This dress watch bears Schlumberger's signature, attesting to his design. Schlumberger was one of four jewelers and industrial designers allowed to sign their work for the brand. In the description of the watches when it is noted "in running condition" it means that the watch is in working order. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
