Jacques DUBOIS (1693-1763) received Master on September 5, 1742 LARGE, FLAT, MOVEMENT-SHAPED DESK In rosewood, satinwood and amaranth veneer, opening with three drawers on one side, three simulated drawers on the other side, on cambered legs, elegant ornamentation in chased gilt bronze, such as foliage pull handles, shells, scrolls, joined by fillets. Louis XV period. The top is trimmed with antique leather. Height 78; Width 173; Depth 85 cm. Slightly missing, wear and tear. Please note. Jacques DUBOIS (1693-1763) was one of the great Parisian cabinetmakers of the reign of Louis XV, for whom he was appointed Ebéniste du Roi. Some of his works are in the Musée du Louvre, the Petit Palais, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Wallace Collection in London.
