Jean-Joseph THORELLE (1806-1889) Cleopatra meeting Antony Ink drawing, signed lower left Thorelle Inv. and del, dated 1882 April. Sight size: 53 x 91 cm - framed: 91 x 128 cm. Note. An artist from Lorraine, painter of architecture, lithographer and draughtsman, Thorelle made a name for himself through the high quality of his drawings, a large number of which are preserved in the Musée de Toulouse. In 1848, he submitted an Indian ink drawing entitled "Arrival in Egypt of Joseph and his Family" to the Paris Salon.
