Large hard porcelain vase on a pedestal with a square marble-like base and porcelain bisque handles. Polychrome decoration in two rectangular reserves surrounded by gold fillet, on one side a landscape in grisaille, on the other a bird perched on a branch. Relief frieze of acanthus leaves in cookie on a pink background on either side of the decoration and gilded palmettes. The pedestal has a brown background, and the neck is decorated with diamond-shaped squares on a yellow background, with a gold frieze on the rim. Early 19th century H. 51 cm Restorations Related work: A model of identical shape signed in cursive letters "manufacture de porcelaine de pigory a chantilly" kept at the Musée Condé in Chantilly inventory no. 2017-4-1 acquired at Drouot on June 30, 2017 sale Audap-Mirabaud lot 101. Claude François Pigory, a former lace merchant and mayor of Chantilly between 1804 and 1812, took over the Chantilly hard-paste porcelain factory in 1803, founded by English entrepreneur Christophe Potter in the Fontaines district, Place de l'Hospice.
