Fritz Heidingsfeld

Fritz Heidingsfeld 1907 Gdansk - 1972 Nuremberg - Near Ibiza. Southern bay - Oil on canvas. 50.5 x 69.5 cm. Signed a. dated r. u.: Heidingsfeld (19)63. Frame. Minim. Craquelure. Fritz Heidingsfeld was born in Danzig. From 1926-1929 he was a pupil of Prof. Pfuhle in Danzig and was 1st prize winner of various artistic and graphic competitions. 1927 - 30 his study trips took him to France, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Holland and Poland. In 1934 he married in Gdansk, the following study trips took him to Yugoslavia, Italy, Spain, the Balearic Islands, North Africa, Austria, Poland and Czechoslovakia. In 1930 Heidingsfeld moved to Berlin, in 1946 he moved to Heroldsberg near Nuremberg. 1947-50 Study trips to the North Sea and Baltic Sea as well as to Denmark, 1953/54 Paris, 1956 Spain, 1953 he lived in Nuremberg, 1958 in Spain. In 1968 he was awarded the Culture Prize of the Free City of Danzig.
