TWO CHINESE HEXAGONAL HARDWOOD AND REVERSE-PAINTED GLASS LANTERNS 晚清 木嵌玻璃畫仕女道教人物流蘇六邊燈籠兩件 China, late Qing dynasty, circa 1900 The wood frame is carved and pierced with dragons, inlaid with reverse-painted glass panels of Taoist figures and still lifes. The lanterns are also adorned with tassels made of copper-enamel painted ruyi heads and strings of coloured glass beads, which can be hung with carved dragons.
