PARTIE DE SERVICE DE TABLE DE L'HÔTEL PRINCE DE GALLES, PARIS White porcelain, the wing highlighted with a gilded fillet framing the Prince of Wales' coat of arms. It comprises some sixty pieces, including plates, dessert plates, cups and saucers. Plate diameter: 22 cm. PROVENANCE. Bar de l'hôtel Prince de Galles, 33, avenue George V, Paris 8th arrondissement. Created in 1929 by André Millon, owner of the Grand-Hôtel and Le Meurice, to become the new flagship of the empire created by his father, the Hotel Prince de Galles was intended to welcome the future Edward VIII, Prince of Wales, son of King George V, who gave his name to the avenue.
