ERNEST GAYAC (1870-1942)

Masquerade (Au Pays des Fées), 1936 Watercolor, ink and pencil on paper, titled and dated lower left, signed lower right and dedicated "À mon ami Claude, souvenir affectueux". 32 x 24.5 cm (on view). Originally from Bordeaux, caricaturist and illustrator Ernest Gailhac settled in Montmartre and took part in the burlesque and anarchist drawing scene with Caran d'Ache and Adolphe Léon Willette.
