Artist information: French painter, watercolourist and orientalist (1832 Toulouse to 1903 or 1905 Quebec/Canada), student at the Madrid Academy of Fine Arts, undertook study trips to Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Syria and Turkey, attended the Paris Salon in 1876-82 with oriental motifs, seascapes and landscapes in gouache, active in Paris, source: Thieme-Becker, Bénézit and Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon".
