Volkstedt Rococo group - The High Visitor Well Müller & Co. for Ludwigsburg, 1920s, underglaze blue brush mark, naturalistic moulding with polychrome overglaze painting and rich gold decoration, a couple standing on an oval landscape base with rose decoration, rocaille border in relief and Ludwigsburg coat of arms cartouche, greeting a noblewoman arriving with a crowned palanquin, accompanied by an oriental boy, the latter standing next to a rose basket and holding the door, the two clasping hands bumped and uncleanly glued, otherwise in good condition for age uncleanly glued, otherwise good condition according to age, dimensions 23.5 x 30 x 20 cm.

QI BAISHI (1863-1957): ‘LITTLE SPARROW’ QI BAISHI (1863-1957): ‘LITTLE SPARROW’ China. Color woodblock print on paper. Depicting an expressively rendered sparrow which appears to be hopping along cheerfully. Inscriptions: Signed ‘Jieshan laoren’ with seal ‘Baishi laoren.’ Inscribed to the top-right corner, ‘Ru shen sui xiao neng fen ji shi he liang’ [‘Although you are small, you can snatch food from chickens and cranes’]. Provenance: A private collection in Spain. Condition: With wear, small losses to the edges, one large water stain, and extensive foxing.
