(1470 Kaufbeuren - Augsburg 1536). Adam and Eve. Two depictions on one sheet. Iron etchings on laid paper. Plgr. each 28.5 x 11 cm, sheet 29 x 24 cm. Each monogrammed in the plate. Each with collector's stamp lower right. Mounted on card support by means of 8 adhesive strips. - Stained, with restorations in places. Paper burnt, faint dampstain over the head of Adam. Li. rest. Marginal tear of approx. 5 cm. Lower left corner backed. Upper right former missing part restored up to partly just above the platemark. Bartsch 1 and 2, Eyssen 1 and 2, Hollstein 1 and 2 I (of II). - Exquisite, contrast-rich impressions of the 1st state before the Funck no. - From the collection of Friedrich August II of Saxony (Lugt 971). With hs. No. on the backing. Extremely rare in the first state with both etchings on one sheet. R
