KARL JUTZ (Germany, 1838-1916). "Pheasants. Oil on panel in oval format. In good condition. Size: 21 x 26 cm; 34 x 39 cm (frame). Painter of landscapes with birds and poultry, Karl Jutz was trained in art in Munich and Düsseldorf. His passion for poultry painting led him to build a coop for ducks and hens in his garden in order to study them in detail. His language is inspired by that of Gustav Süs, his great influence. On this occasion he offers us the image of a group of pheasants fluttering by a river. The space is drawn in depth, faithfully following the laws of perspective, with its lines clearly marked by the banks of the pond.

Giese studied at the Düsseldorf academy and under Ludwig Dill (1848-1940) in Munich, then worked in Dresden and lived in Munich again since 1900, he exhibited his coloristically charming, atmospheric landscapes, for which he liked to choose motifs from water-rich areas such as Holland and the Spreewald and the sea coast, since about 1890 in the Munich Glaspalast, at the great Berlin art exhibition, in the Künstlerhaus in Vienna and others, in 1900 an extensive collective exhibition with works from 10 creative years took place in Munich.
