Purplish morocco, ribbed spine decorated with double cold-stamped boxes, double cold-stamped fillet on covers, gilt edges over marbling, wide inner lace (Duru 1846). Corrected edition, of better workmanship than the original, which appeared before 1606 (Brunet V, 1016. Tchemerzine V, 936 (editions of 1611 - the only one collated by the bibliographer - , 1615, 1617 and 1618 in passing). Failing to indicate a precise collation, Tchemerzine cites this copy, sold for 1520 francs at the de Backer sale). Bookplate of publisher and poet Auguste-Pierre Garnier (1885-1966), from the Garnier brothers' family. A very fine copy.
