Artillery Sabre Saxony M1867, slightly curved wedge blade with hollow groove on both sides and former decorative etching, clasp hilt with two side straps and iron finger loop, grip covered with chequering, grooved grip cap, nickel-plated metal scabbard with one suspension loop, Z 3-4, blade pitted, decorative etching completely worn away, winding missing, signs of age and wear, total length 89 cm.

Leipzig, Industrie Comptoir, [1802]. 2 parts in 1 vol. small in-4 (24.5 x 19 cm) of 36 pp., 1 f. n. ch. ; pages 37 to 78, Bradel half-black cloth with small corners, mute spine (later binding). Rare collection of 16th-century German court costumes, featuring 25 copper-engraved plates of hand-colored full-length portraits of one, two or four figures, most of them male. The first part reproduces figures from a manuscript kept in the Ducal Library of Gotha, devoted to the costumes of the Dukes and Electors of Saxony and their courtiers between 1518 and 1589; the second part reproduces figures from Matthäus Schwarz's Book of Costumes, considered the first fashion book. There are three female portraits: Dorothea, daughter of Frederick I of Denmark, Anne-Catherine of Brandenburg, wife of Christian IV of Denmark, and Anne-Marie of Palatinate-Neuburg, wife of Frederick William I of Saxony-Weimar. The text includes a description of the plates and a draft bibliography on traditional costumes. Stamps and handwritten signature "C. Witten". Two copies listed at CCfr. Text leaves of the second part foxed, some spotting and marginal foxing on the plates, otherwise a fine copy with very fresh colors. (Colas, no. 2667).
